Meet Kamla & Rajesh Thakur
Rajesh's grandfather built this house in 1962 from stone and deodar wood, in the kath-kuni style of the valley. We opened its rooms to guests in 2016, after one too many friends asked to stay for 'just one more week'.
Kamla runs the kitchen and the garden; Rajesh has walked every trail above Goshal since he was a boy. We'll help you find the quiet side of Manali.

Getting here is half the story
We're in Goshal village, Old Manali, a 10-minute drive or 25-minute walk above the Mall Road, with the Beas river below and the Solang valley half an hour away.
- By airBhuntar (Kullu) airport is 52 km away, about 1.5 hours. We can arrange a pickup.
- By overnight busVolvo buses from Delhi reach Manali in 12–14 hours. We collect you from the bus stand.
- By roadFrom Chandigarh it's about 8 hours. The last 2 km are steep; there's parking for 4 cars at the house.

Questions, answered
Yes. The road to Goshal is cleared after snowfall, usually within a few hours. On heavy-snow days we pick you up from Old Manali in our 4×4 at no charge.
Every room has a wood stove, fireplace or heater, plus electric blankets and 24-hour hot water. The Alpine Suite also has heated floors.
Yes. We have 100 Mbps fibre with a 4G backup and an inverter for power cuts. The Loft has a proper desk, and weekly and monthly rates.
Breakfast is included: parathas, eggs, fruit and endless chai. Lunch and dinner are home-cooked Himachali and North Indian vegetarian meals, on request.
Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival. After that we keep one night's rate. We never ask for a deposit when you book direct.
Check-in is from 1pm and check-out by 11am. Arriving early off the overnight bus? Your breakfast and a hot shower will be ready.
